Meet Dr Sarah
Hi! I'm Dr Sarah, and I'm a medical doctor that has struggled with sleep for as long as I can remember. I slept poorly as a kid, through school and university, and even now working as a doctor and educator. I worked shift work in a busy emergency department for years before deciding to start training as a General Practitioner, and I spent countless nights developing and tweaking my sleep routine.
I often get asked by my patients what they can do to sleep better; often hoping there's a magic pill. Unfortunately, good sleep takes work and our brains need to learn the rituals and routines of bedtime so we can switch off. I use the same techniques I tell my patients: have a clean bedtime routine, and develop a habit-forming sleep ritual that hits all the senses (Learn more about this in More Sleep Resources and our Sleep Blog).
With the help of my mum Karen, a busy high school teacher who is also a horrible sleeper, we developed Sleep Scents; a range of products to help anchor our own sleep routines. We now want to share Sleep Scents and our other sleep tips and tricks with other struggle-sleepers out there.
